Post Thanksgiving Long Weekend Oct 12-14
Sorry I missed the last meeting was anyone thinking of a camping trip for the Canada Thanksgiving long weekend?

I'd like one last trip with the travel trailer before I winterize it Lol.

I'm not sure camping is likely but here is my plan:

Saturday the 12th, take a run up to Cypress Point or Road to Paradise. Both of them are in the same vicinity and relatively easy to get to without being overly concerned about long weekend traffic.

Meet at 9:30am for 10am departure at the Husky at Hwy 7 and Sylvester Road. Plan for any kind of weather. Forecast currently says 50% chance of precipitation. With the cold weather we are having right now, snow is not out of the question.

Post up if you plan to attend. See you all there!

Can Jeremy bring his trailer? It would be an interesting exercise...

What are the vehicle requirements for this trip? As far as I can remember, the trail to Cypress Point had some challenging parts and Road to Paradise was even more challenging!

Probably going to join on this one.

Cypress is pretty easy except for the one creek crossing. The approach / exit are a bit interesting, but not too hard.
There is one rock in the creek. Don't hit it and you'll be fine. I think some of the rocks have moved since the time Grant got stuck and had to be helped out.

RTP - well, that's a different story. Haven't been in there since the last time we all went. If anything, seeing as how steep it is, my guess is it will be tougher rather than easier, for the first part of the trail through the cut block. The rest is not that big a deal, but that new section cutting down to the old road is not for stock, that is for sure.

Yes, what Mike said. I suspect we will stick to Cypress point unless we have a really hardcore group. Road to Paradise is definitely double locked and 35 minimum, winching likely.

It seems we are out for this one. Just too much to get done these days.
