Post Re: Celebration of life for Grant Gonneau
Found this from Oct 2007. Thought is would be appropriate to show how positive Grant was right from when we first met him. This is an email Grant sent to our Yahoo Group.

Thanks again Rob for the great day on Sunday. I had a blast. Even
though the weather wasn't favourable (but then again, this is the wet
west coast). I have to figure a way to get the video camera attached
so pictures/video can be taken while under way. Telling people what
we do just doesn't do the pictures any justice.

Hey Brian, I am glad you are such a good sport. We all bash Fords
(OK, most sane people) and you are pretty mellow about it. We all
enjoy a good ribbing now and then, especially when giving it!! Glad
there wasn't any real serious damage and you will be able to get out
on the trail again. You have something to talk about at least. Some
of us were pretty boring. I mean the Xterra tried to match you in the
sand, but there weren't any rocks to give him a real challenge!!

Guy, next time I will leave room for your lamb kabob's. They looked
great, smelled even better, but I will leave room next time. I can hardly wait.

Nancy, I take it you had a slight malfunction. Brian didn't want to
be the only one with issues... (Sorry Brian, couldn't resist). I'm
glad that there was someone there to give you a hand. Hopefully the
tire and rim are OK.

Thanks to everyone else that made the day GREAT. I am ready to do it
again, and again......

I was so tired this morning (the alarm radio went off for 15 minutes
before I heard it this morning). Must have been all the fresh air...

Anyway, I've said enough.

Thanks again everyone.

Here is an amazing picture of our dear Friend Grant from June 2017 summer on top of a mountain near Copper Creek. here is a link to an album of our pictures. we will be at the Celebration. This picture was taken by LaVerna a few months before he Entered into the next part of his Journey. He could not have been happier standing there taking in all the beauty he Loved. He brought so much fun and life and wonder to our trips. He was always like a kid when it came to wheelin and camping and laughs were always free around him. here is another Link of a video of a trip we took with Grant up molybdenite.

Should an email be sent to the members like our meeting reminder?

Just a thought.

See you all Friday.

Perhaps Darren or Wes can send this out?
I’m in charge of the reminders but am still trying to figure out Mail Chimp.

Stuck in traffic. I'll get there eventually.
