Post Krawling down to KM2
I picked up one. Count 'em one, Goodrich KM2 in 315/75R16; that's a 35x12.5 for the metrifically challenged such as myself. I wanted to go to 37's or 38's to get the highway speed above 80 km/h but finding 37/38's to suit the truck in 12.5 is almost impossible when each tire costs 3 day's wages!
If it looks proper and fits then I get the rest and I can go bigger when I actually get the thing mobile.
I actually want Micheln XL's but the darn US military took them all to a desert somewhere to misappropriate some oil so there is nothing left on this continent! Krawlers are very similar in look but don't come in my size or budget.
Seems most tires these days are getting goofy. Skulls and snakes et al on the side blocks. What's up with that? Are all wheelers 15 years old?

So you bought those **cough** over priced BFGs! What rim size were you looking for?

Compared to everything else they were actually quite reasonably priced! Very close to Tirerack.
My issue is the tread style. I want radials that still have a military style tread pattern without dorky crap on the sidewalls plus I wanted a reasonable tread life. I could have gone back to the original excellent wearing but hard and noisy bias directional tires but wanted some compromise here... tires can be replaced easilly enough.
I need 16's and 35's were the only size available in 16. Also realise the thing weighs 7000 pounds dry.
Look up Michelin XL for an idea of the tread pattern I'm after.

Ya, but what is it worth to us not to have to listen to you complain about BFGs?

We would have pitched in just to keep you quiet :GH:

You do have a point. :-)
While the KM's had a poor sidewall and iffy traction on rocks they were a fine daily-driver tire and honestly this truck will only see moderate trails. The ones I ran did nothing to push me away from BFG. Unlike my Laredo's and the service/warantee (lack of) I got from Uniroyal... I will never purchase another Uniwrinkle.
Since I haven't run them I can only comment on what the look like and I am impressed with that. Experience with street and off-highway performance on a 7500 pound truck will have to wait...

I have five vehicles, and they are all wheelers, and they all have dramatically different tire sizes.

so the poll needs an all of the above option.

I paid 250 a tire for my km2's. I thought that was a good deal. 315/75/R16.They seem to be wearing well, works for me.
