Post Lift for my FJ
I opened some boxes under the tree and found a complete lift kit and a set of upper control arms for my truck (I guess my FJ has been good all year). Included are a diff drop, sway bar relocation kit, and rear bumper stops. Can anyone help me install it? Preferably a dry, warm garage with requisite tools, and help from someone that knows the difference between a cross and square screwdriver! The front coils are pre-assembled. I am available anytime from December 28 to the New Year, or some weekend in January.

I can provide dry garage space and some tools, but not the expertise needed to do the entire job.

If someone with the requisite expertise and possibly some additional tools can pitch in, I think we can do this.

I've never worked on an FJ but I'm sure it can't be terribly difficult. I can help but I work during the week.

You really didn't need all that stuff though, you only needed to let more air out of the tires.

Thanks Dan, you just deflated my euphoria. The red coils will look good on my FJ though, and I got some stickers...

What???!!! You opened gifts already???!!!

I can help, I have experience lifting late model Toyota IFS, I done it before on my Taco. Glad to hear the coil-overs are pre assembled, the hardest part is already done.

I hope Paul has 4 big jack stands.

I am flying out Dec 24, returning 29th. Sat 30 might work.

If your UCA's are uniballs, I will fill you in on the lubrication trick.

Actually, I have 2 big jack stands. So we need only 2 more.

Well, I have a hoist and a really big tool box with, most likely, all the required tools. Also have some knowledge with IFS lifts.....just not sure if I play well with others. Also steel toe boots would be a minimum requirement. The shop also is heated, clean and has a big air compressor. Would need to ok it with the big guy... just an option....

For Dutch people, Santa (aka Sinterklaas) comes on December 5th. The upper control arms are Uniball. A hoist would be handy, so Rick if your place is available (or can bring it to Paul's) that would be great. All your offers are appreciated. Dan, I won't share my stickers.

Stickers are for people that got parts for free. Why would you advertise for them if you paid for the parts?

Rick (and I) are installing my lift kit and skid plates on my FJ at his shop this Saturday. You are welcome to help, but please reply so we know how many to expect. Steel boots are mandatory. Significant others can be dropped off at Tsawwassen Mills. Wearing green is encouraged but optional.

Looks great. Are the tires next? Cause now they look tiny on that beast. Congratulations.

You 3-wheeled all through Moab, and never came close to a flop. With that square stance on the FJ, go to town!

Very cool. That total chaos stuff is really nice stuff. DO NOT put grease on those Teflon (PTFE) uni balls. Go to a cycle shop and get some Teflon chain lube, the same stuff that mountain bikers use on their chains on their bikes. Put a few drops on the uniball each week, the bottle is small enough to keep inside your glove box.
