Do you need a certain feature on the GPS to work with the radio? Or will any GPS work?

So where did you mount the radio? I was thinking of installing the remote head above the windshield between the sun visors. Does anyone take any extra precautions in the summer when traveling on dusty roads? My YJ gets totally caked in road dust inside. I suppose I might build the radio into a box with good ventilation and then I could install filters for the summer trails.

That's where the head unit for mine is and the main radio is under the drivers seat. I also use a extension mic cable, as it attaches to the main unit

My main unit is under the seat, and the head unit is bolted to the center consold just to the right of where your right knee would be. Very clean install, but I'm thinking of moving it.
If you just set your radio and forget about it for the rest of the trip this is a good location, but if you need to fiddle with squelch / volume it's hard to keep your eyes on the road and adjust the radio.

I'm going to put it on top of the center console when I get around to it. Maybe in a year or so.

It doesn't mention anything in the brochure about an ignore button.

Hey, now that I ( finally ) have a Kenwood D710 and Garmin I'm looking at doing this, just looking for clarification for the cables used as the only cable mentioned in the video was a Garmina
connection cable, not quite sure which cable would be used for the Kenwood side of thing. Thanks for any assistance, miss wheeling with you guys !

This is the cable to hook up the Garmin so the APRS shows on it, just hook up the power and data in, out the other two wires are not used
