Post ADVANCED amateur radio course - October 23-November 27, 2018
It's finally here, the course you have all been waiting for. After several years without holding one, we are putting on an advanced course this fall.

It should go without saying that the prerequisite to this course is a basic amateur radio operator's certificate, but even if you don't have one we are putting on a basic course the weekend before we start this one so you simply need to sign up for both.

What does an advanced amateur operator's certificate give you? High power - up to 2500watts PEP. Operation of an in-band repeater. Access to HF bands (if you have only a basic certificate). The ability to sponsor a club station. The ability to built transmitting components from scratch. Most importantly, increased knowledge of virtually all aspects of amateur radio.

Unlike the basic course, this is not a compressed curriculum. We will go through the material you need to know to pass the exam in substantial detail. This is why approximately 6 evenings will be required.

Course fees include materials, exam fees, a 1 year membership in the club and instruction over the 6 evenings. The course will be Tuesday evenings from 7pm to approximately 9pm. It will be at the Chilliwack EOC, 5725 Tyson Road in Chilliwack. Course participants will be limited to 15 so that we can ensure adequate instruction for all involved.

Sign up here - under the ADVANCED tab.

A scientific calculator will be required for this class, although most cell phone calculators have this ability so don't rush out to buy one.

If you have questions about this course, please ask them in this thread. I look forward to seeing you in October!

VA7LLB - The previous post is based on actual events. Only the names, locations and events have been changed.

The Xterra is gone, and Red Rock is ready.
