We can do a separate thread on stand alone gps units, and smart phone gps/map apps.
There are a few garmin units available to borrow but some training will be necessary

I have used "Avenza maps" on my android phone works well enough for me. There are a thousand differ opinions on what to use. They each have their good and bad points it all depends on what you want from it.it is possible to do the GPS challenge on a map just a bit more challenging or more fun depending how you look at it. You could pair up with someone who has a GPS.

Count me in, I will bring my map and compass, but would like to borrow someone's GPS in case I get lost. I haven't got lost so far, as I was following others!

Adam and Stuart, since you are organizing and not driving, would you be able to lend me a GPS unit? If there is enough interest from non-GPS owners, maybe we can organize an educational session (on the trail) beforehand. This will be a good opportunity to get familiar with GPS and get a sense what they do, and what kind of unit and features you might want when purchasing one in the future.

They do have some GPS units for sale at Cabela's in Abbotsford and at Wholesale Sport in Langley at the moment.

Any trail I can handle is fine with me.

Filip, you really can't do a GPS challenge without a GPS. It is the whole point of the event. You input coordinates into your GPS and use it to find the box which has the next set of coordinates and so on. While technically, a map and compass will get you in the right vicinity, it really is not accurate enough to use for such an event.

Borrow or buy one. It's actually quite fun.

Adam will lend me his GPS. The GPS challenge sounds like a lot of fun and I will join in despite my limited experience with GPS. I don't mind pairing up with someone.

I encourage others to join in too even if they do not have a GPS; Stuart posted that the are a few on loan. As I posted earlier, there are some GPS units (Garmin) on sale at Cabela's and Wholesale Sport if you want to purchase one.

I will attend providing my friend can make it. Should be fun. He's never used a GPS, and never gone wheeling...

Oh, and moderate trails please.....

.
I suggest 32's or better, lockers and winch not required.
Some pinstriping and perhaps 10 point turns.

I'm on 31s, but they're very ambitious 31s. Already well striped, too.
