now i have my disk brake conversion just about complete

now to build my 'doubler', should only take 'half' the amount of time i figure...

What are you running for gears?
Trans AX15 - 3.83
Reduction 1 - 2.72
Reduction 2 - 4
Axles: 4.27

=178

I am at 4.46+2.72+3.83+4.88= 227

Right now your saw horses are much slower than I could ever be!

Dont do the 5.89's if you want to drive it on the street!!! If its trail only, with being trailered to distance places.. then maybe... I'm almost regretting my 5.89's and should have stuck with my 5.13/5.38 plan... I'm slow enough as it is on 4lo, and I havent even hooked up the shifter for my doubler yet... At any rate... I guess I'm third in the slow poke class...
3.83*2.72*2.72*5.89=167... Maybe I should do a 4:1 in the doubler, and get a 3-spd t-case with a 10:1... Ah hell... I'll just keep stacking doublers till my rear shaft is about 12" long and my front is about 100" long!!!! I'll be as un-useable as that Mission ford ranger with the 3-trannys and 2-t-cases!!!

Or a better idea for you Phil, is get a t-case with an overdrive so you can get deep axle gears...

Ryan, hook up the cable for your doubler. It really adds a new dimension to creepy crawly bits. The increase in control for turning when being spotted up hill is great. Like wheeling in slow motion. Downhill is the greatest difference. Using the throttle when going down hill on those technical/steep bits is such a huge increase in the feeling and control. Its just great not using the brakes. So many bad things happen when using brakes.

Took me a long time to get used to just how it applied to our wheeling. Was so used to just the 2.7 reduction, but now, I would have trouble going back to just a regular 2 speed t-case!

sent my tranny out to be rebuilt - it is back, shiny and new!

sent my 350 chevy small block out to be rebuilt - should have it in a week...

my frame should be ready for painting this week...
