Ace Engineering JK rear bumper & tire carrier install.

I installed the bumper tire carrier I bought at swap meet back in March.
It was slightly freight damaged thats why the spray bomb is in the pics.

Looks good.
One question, how close does the hi-lift get to the sheet metal on the passenger side when you open the tire carrier? Looks like it could be close.

Good question. I actually goes further away. Let me explain. It is a bumper mounted (1.5 spindle) tire carrier, but it opens with the tailgate, a 1 handed design. It's connected to the gate with a dual heim turnbuckle. As the gate is opened, the tire carrier mooves away slightly and in the fully opened position it mooves back to the original distance from the gate.

However, the Daystar Handle Keeper (the oval shaped rubber thingy that keeps the handle from rattling) does touch the gate in the fully closed position.

I do have to be carefull though to make sure the gate is full opened before opening the glass.

Also, as you can see by the pics, I had to remoove the base off the jack to prevent it from taking taking out my taillight.

I was getting a bit of seepage with the stock covers and I wanted to do a service so I installed my diff covers. I put the cast iron ARB on the front (thanks Albert), and the alum on the rear (no, I don't care that they don't match, I'm lucky if my socks match these days!). It looks like the front track bar is goona hit the ARB cover. My lift has a track bar relocation brackets, so I'll have to see what happens after I install it. If it still hits, then I'll need an aftermarket track bar.

Your thread title is wrong. This is a buying thread not a build thread.

We're expecting pictures of the results.

And the bashed knuckles, bruised foreheads, and whatever other carnage.

If it is high in the rear add more tools to your gear.
